1. TREE REMOVAL
Each tree removal presents a different challenge to Geoff and his team. With our many years of experience and professional techniques we can confidently manage anything presented to us. Whether your tree is a 50 metre eucalypt or a shrub we can safely remove it.
We climb trees using rope and harness procedures and use advanced rope techniques to lower sections of your tree, always exercising great care not to damage other plants or property. We also aim to leave your property even cleaner than we found it.
Stump grinding - Stumps are completely ground into wood mulch using a stump grinding machine. The grindings usually fit or in time, sink into the resulting hole. Any leftover mulch is great to spread on the garden.
2. PRUNING
Professional pruning improves the safety, structure and health of your trees. Geoff understands tree type, shape and growth patterns and can prune appropriately. A tree 'lopper' may cut the tree back a specified distance without considering its specific physiology. This may allow the tree to re-grow in a structurally and aesthetically poor manner.
Geoff can trim any tree, hedge, vine or shrub, safely and expertly, leaving no mess or damage.
Reasons for pruning
Pruning is often recommended when you wish to retain your tree but feel it may not be safe. It may be hanging over your roof, gutters fence or garage.
Your tree or part of it could be unhealthy and may benefit from specialized pruning.
Your tree may be blocking sunlight from your home and/or yard.
It may simply be too large.
You may want your tree shaped for structural and/or aesthetic reasons.
Pruning Techniques -
Thinning will render your tree safer due to lowered wind resistance. Thinning also allows more sunlight through.
Branch removal
Special care needs to be taken when removing limbs over house or garage roofs, children's play equipment, wires, paths, driveways and gutters.
Weight reduction makes your tree safer by reducing strain.
Crown reduction will decrease the overall size of your tree and result in an aesthetically pleasing shape.
Re-shaping - You may wish your tree or hedge to be trimmed to a specific shape.
Uplifting - Lower limbs are removed for safety and/or convenience.
Dead Wood removal
Dead wooding prevents disease and pests such as borers from entering your tree. Dead wood is very dangerous and is highly likely to fall on people and property. Your tree will also look more attractive without dead wood.

3. TREE SURGERY
Cable Bracing - Trees with multiple trunks may be structurally unsound and can be braced with a cable to provide support.
Micro-injection Fertilizer treatment - If a mature tree is showing signs of distress because of drought or neglect, generally the roots have been unable to provide sufficiently for its needs. Essential nutrients can be injected directly into the tree's sapstream to remove stress and allow the tree to regenerate.

4. MULCH AND MULCHING
Applying a thick layer of tree mulch is probably the best thing you can do for your garden. The mulch needs to be applied at least 10 to 15 cm deep to the base of trees and shrubs and over entire garden beds.
Mulching can save up to 70% of moisture being lost from your soil.
If you have a pile of tree branches lying around, we will mulch them for you.

5. FIREWOOD
We cut the wood into manageable 12'' -15'' lengths for you. We will leave the pieces for you, your friends, neighbours or family to split and use, thus saving loads on heating bills. Of course the wood needs to dry out before use. If you don't want the wood, it will quickly disappear from your nature strip. Alternatively, we will remove it for an additional fee.
